I am extremely pleased and proud to welcome visitors to the JNA website, which has been developed by Paula Daley Morris and Cheryl Thompson, two of our Council members. This has been a goal of the Association for some time and so the actual launch of this website is like a dream come true.


In these days of technology-enhanced, instant communication, it is imperative that modern organisations establish a presence on the
Internet by creating their own websites.

The Jamaica Netball Association's website which is accessed at htp:\\jamaicanetball.org.jm will provide information to our members and potential sponsors on the history of our Association, the teams, their performances, the results of league matches and updates on current developments.

It will also be linked to the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA), our parent body. Students with sports-related projects and other researchers will be able to access the JNA database on-line and read issues of our newsletters which will be posted on the website on a regular basis.

I am personally very excited at the possibilities that having our own website will open up; not least of which is the expectation that it
will facilitate our fundraising efforts. These are financially challenging times for all sports associations but I am determined to make every effort to ensure the survival and growth of the JNA. This website will help in raising the profile of the Association and increasing the visibility of the sport in Jamaica. It should be widely known that netball is not only the number one team sport for women in Jamaica, but it is also the most successful, worldwide. It is hoped that the general public will come to recognise,
through exposure to our website, the standing of the Jamaica Netball Association internationally, in addition to receiving information on
our clubs and community activities.

I heartily welcome this important development in our history and urge everyone to spread the word to their colleagues and friends that the
JNA is now in cyberspace!
