Umpiring in Jamaica

Umpiring is an important aspect of the game of netball. It is the means by which the rules and regulations of the game is enforced during play.

In Jamaica, umpires are required to sit and pass theoretical and practical examinations to earn awards. An umpire could attain one of the following awards: A, B, C, Advance, Jamaica or International. The level of the award is determined by the quality of the candidate's performance during the tests. The passing mark for the theory examination is 80%. All umpires must earn a pass in this test to become eligible for testing for an award. All tests attract a minimal fee.
